Celebrating International Women's Day 2023

Happy International Women’s Day! One-Eighty works tirelessly every day to build a world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive by supporting vulnerable young people to overcome significant challenges in their lives and have hope for the future. We are a passionate organisation with a senior leadership team made up entirely of women (although we are equally proud of the men in our charity). Founded and led by our Chief Executive, Susie Besant, who lives and breathes our vision of ‘turning lives around’, and steered by our Chair, Tina Elder, who is committed to leading One-Eighty to achieve this, we are very proud of what we've accomplished over the last 11 years.

Today, on International Women’s Day, we are proud to share that Susie, in recognition of this hard work and commitment, has been awarded the Oxfordshire High Sheriff’s Award 2023. This award is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the communities in which they live and work and who have gone above and beyond to support young people from challenged backgrounds.

As we look forward to supporting even more young people to turn their lives around, our all-female leadership team will aspire to lead as described by Dolly Parton:

“If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then, you are an excellent leader.”
