FUNDRAISING AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Location: Oxford (with occasional travel to Buckinghamshire or other locations)
Salary: £28,000-£30,000 pro-rata (experience dependent)
Hours: 30 hours per week; Permanent following probation period

This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a range of fundraising and communications activities while working for an award-winning charity.

About One-Eighty
We’re an ambitious charity that has been bridging the gap between mental health and education since 2011. From intensive 1:1 interventions to preventative mental health projects and professional training, we support young people aged 4-18 across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Now, more than ever, young people need support to thrive,  and we’re growing our team to meet that demand.

About the Role

As our Fundraising and Communications Officer, you will

  • Help generate income from a portfolio of trusts, foundations, corporate supporters, and community fundraising.

  • Craft compelling donor communications, funding applications, and donor reports.

  • Manage relationships with donors, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.

  • Support and coordinate fundraising events.

  • Create engaging content for our social media channels and website, keeping our supporters informed and inspired.

  • Work with local media to raise awareness of our vital work.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and grow your career in the charity sector. You’ll work closely with an experienced fundraising lead, gaining valuable insights and support to progress in this field.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with:

  • At least two years’ experience in charity fundraising or communications;

  • Excellent writing skills, with a talent for creating clear, persuasive content;

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;

  • Confidence using tools like Excel, Canva, Hootsuite, and fundraising database, Donorfy;

  • A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and

  • A can-do mindset and a desire to learn and grow  in the field of  charity fundraising and communications.

Due to the continued high demand for our services, we are recruiting for Mental Health Workers.

They will deliver interventions to support vulnerable young people and their families across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire with their mental health needs to re-engage with education.

£24,570 - £25,444

Hours - Full-time but part-time would be considered.

What would my average day look like?

  • Join a planning meeting with colleagues

  • Writing a plan for your session (with Jamie, aged 10)

  • Text Jamie’s Foster Carers before you go to check how his morning went

  • Travel to Jamie’s primary school

  • Deliver your one-to-one session with Jamie which aims to help him learn new ways to manage his feelings

  • Update Jamie’s teaching assistant on how your session went

  • Travel back to the office or home

  • Write up your session reflecting on progress against targets
